What Are Roofing Sheets?

Roofing sheets are flat or profiled panels used to cover roofs and protect buildings from weather (rain, sun, wind). They come in a variety of materials, thicknesses, colours and profiles to suit industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential applications.

Metal Roofing Sheets (Steel / GI / Galvalume)

  • Made of galvanized steel (GI) or galvalume (steel with aluminum–zinc) coating for corrosion resistance.
  • Often corrugated or trapezoidal shaped to add strength and allow rain-water flow.
  • Thickness: usually 0.30 mm – 1.2 mm or more (depends on grade).
  • Profile width: ~600 mm – 1250 mm (depends on profile).
  • Benefits: durable, strong, relatively cost-effective and long-lasting.
  • Use: warehouses, sheds, home rooftops, factories

2️⃣ Colour Coated Roofing Sheets (PPGI / PPGL)

  • Base metal (GI or Galvalume) pre-painted with coloured coatings — Polyester, SMP or PVDF paint layers.
  • Comes in many colours (RAL chart) and finishes.
  • Better corrosion and UV resistance than plain metal sheets.
  • Profile styles: corrugated, tile-profile, trapezoidal, standing seam
  • Use: residential houses, commercial buildings, schools.

3️⃣ Polycarbonate Roofing Sheets

  • Transparent or translucent plastic sheets that let light through.
  • Extremely impact-resistant and lightweight.
  • UV-protected (up to ~99% UV blocking).
  • Uses: skylights, patios, greenhouses, canopies where natural light is needed.

4️⃣ Bitumen / Asphalt Roofing Sheets

  • Made from fibres with bitumen waterproof membrane.
  • Good waterproofing and noise-reducing.
  • Use: flat roofs or low-sloped roofs, residential or commercial.

5️⃣ Plastic (PVC) Roofing Sheets

  • Lightweight and affordable plastic panels.
  • Waterproof and easy to install.
  • Use: sheds, small shelters, temporary structures.

6️⃣ Fibre Cement / FRP Roofing Sheets

  • Cement mixed with fibres (fibre cement) or fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP).
  • Fire-resistant and robust.
  • Use: industrial roof decks, commercial spaces.
